This week we have Sam, a Strategy & Operations Associate based out of our London office, who gives us an insight into his role, his very active lifestyle, his go-karting skills and his favorite thing about working at Bocobay.

Describe your role?
Revenue management of the company. Anything related to dynamic pricing, concierge partnerships, analytics, market research, and optimisation of our operations and onboarding processes.
What can you not do without in the morning?
I go for a 4km run or 1km swim almost every morning.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Bocobay?
Freedom and responsibility at work, people, optimistic future outlook of the company and trips to the Caribbean.
What is something that you’re proud of that you’ve accomplished in your role?
One concrete example is a partnership deal with Marriott. A more abstract answer would be a data driven approach to revenue optimization and a resulting increase in revenue.
Which Bocobay property is your favourite?
Tree Tops - it might not look as luxurious as other villas/condos but it has a great character.

What is something people don’t know about you?
I have won a local go-karting championship in Kenya in front of a crowd of 300 people. I wasn’t the fastest, but I had the best strategy.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
I haven’t received any memorable advice. However, something that worked very well for me is to stop for a moment and think. Just because everyone does things in a certain way does not mean that it's the best way (for you).
Any good recommendations of what to do/see/eat while in Aruba?
Climb Jamanota hill for sunrise and then continue hiking through Arikok National Park all the way to Dos Playa. This part of the national park is very quiet - great getaway from tourist spots!
